There are no words that can adequately explain this cult classic anime. It was the first anime show I ever watched, and it has since become one of my favorite shows. Mad Max: Fury Road, also known as Mad Max 4: Furios Van's Revenge or The Immortals' Last Stand or whatever you want to call it. It is an epic tale about three different groups of people who are all chasing the same goal in a dystopian future where humankind has destroyed itself and everything goes back to how things were before - warring factions fighting for power across barren landscapes. Everything is caused by the mysterious Immortals, who I guess are the only ones who can use the power of the titular Furious Seven. They are very secretive, but you kind of get to know them throughout this show. While Mad Max has never been able to capture my full attention over the years - every time I watch an episode it's like I'm watching it for the first time. That's probably why it has only nine episodes, because each one deserves their own special appreciation. As a kid I watched most of my anime shows with my family, and this show was shown mostly in Japanese with Chinese subtitles. They were never able to explain anything about the show, which only made it scarier and interesting at the same time. I think it was because of this that I was able to make up my own stories for it, and connect with what they were trying to say. It really felt like a show for adults at the time, even though half the people watching weren't even cardholders. It just gave off that vibe to me as a kid who didn't know any better. It was a show that made me believe in magic, and forced me to appreciate the things that humans have created even though they brought us to our knees. I've never seen a show so desperate for people to survive...even if it means sacrificing yourself for the survival of others.
